CIFT Director Dr Ninan and Jatropower India CEO Santosh Vasudevan at the signing ceremony at CIFT head quarters, Kochi, Kerala, India
Taking its pioneering research on edible varieties of Jatropha curcas L (XutaTM), Jatropower entered into a research partnership with India’s premier research institute, the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR CIFT), Kochi to demonstrate the nutritional quality of Xuta products as novel feed ingredients. Xuta kernels have 55-60% high quality oil and leaves a high quality kernel cake once this oil is expelled. Xuta kernel cake has about 60% highly digestible proteins. The collaborative research aims to demonstrate the nutritional quality of this expelled kernel cake.
